Answers to Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are the questions our staff answers most often — about insurance, scheduling, what to expect, and how to reach us. If yours isn't here, call us at (281) 290-9800. We'd rather answer a question before your visit than have you wonder about it.
Getting Started
About Urology and Our Practice
A specialist in the urinary tract.
A urologist diagnoses and treats conditions of the urinary tract in both men and women, along with the male reproductive system. Urologists complete additional years of specialized surgical training after medical school.
Yes — select physicians see children.
Common pediatric concerns we manage include undescended testicles, hydroceles, bedwetting, and urinary tract abnormalities.
Six facilities across north Houston.
Our physicians are affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball, Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, Memorial Hermann Hospital System, Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, and Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital Kingwood. Affiliations vary by physician, so ask your urologist which facility your procedure would be performed at.
Scheduling
Appointments and Hours
Call us — we'll find the soonest opening.
Wait times vary by physician and location, and our nurse practitioner often has earlier availability for evaluations and follow-up care. Call (281) 290-9800 and our staff will find you the earliest appointment that works.
Monday through Friday, closed weekends.
Our offices are open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We are closed Saturday and Sunday.
ID, insurance card, and medication list.
Please bring a photo ID, insurance card, referral if required, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical records or test results. Arriving 15 minutes early allows time to complete paperwork — or complete it in advance from our patient forms page.
Call 911 for emergencies.
For urgent urologic concerns outside office hours, call our main number at (281) 290-9800 and follow the prompts to reach our on-call provider. For medical emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room rather than waiting for a callback.
Coverage and Costs
Insurance and Billing
Most major plans — verify yours.
We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, UnitedHealthcare, and TRICARE. Carriers offer many different plans and participation can vary between them, so contact our office to verify your specific coverage.
Depends on your insurance plan.
HMO and some managed care plans require a referral from your primary care physician, while PPO plans typically do not. Check with your insurance provider or call our office and we'll help you determine what's needed.
Yes, for qualifying procedures.
Payment plan options may be available depending on the procedure, and self-pay rates are offered for uninsured patients. Contact our billing department at (281) 290-9800 for details.
